Pig Out: Bingsu at Cafe Seol Hwa (빙수)

Cafe Seol Hwa is an established Korean restaurant found at the 2nd level of The Forum in Bonifacio Global CityTaguig. The place is composed of interesting elements that makes the environment cozy and inviting. Wall arts were strategically placed around the resto to create a cool vibe perfect for photo ops and #groupie.

Aside from the extraordinary ambiance, this place is famous for their fusion toasts, pancakes, Korean teas and of course, BING SU (Patbingsu)  — a popular Korean shaved ice dessert.

Known from their “Instagram worthy appearance”, the palatable frozen treats have no preservatives, artificial coloring and were made from 100% quality ingredients.  Seol Hwa offers a generous amount of bing su per serving – the single size is good for one person to enjoy while the large serving can be shared by 2 – 3 persons.

There’s no other way to enjoy bing su than to mix the shaved ice and toppings together.  All in all, the place caters to 9 different types of bing su. Each has their own special toppings (be it fruits, cheese or brownies)

To attest to Seol Hwa’s famous dessert, my friends and I decided to devour two snow cups as starters.

First we tried the large Mango Cheese bing su. (340php)

(A humongous metallic cup of snow, milk, cube mango and plain cheesecake topped off with chopped almonds plus vanilla ice cream.)

Next, we settled into sometime different. A friend of mine then ordered Choco Brownie bing su (360php)

(A choco milk snow base covered with cube chocolate brownies and Coco crunch. Plus the chocolate ice cream and nuts all over.)

After more than 30 minutes of non-stop eating, I am certain that this won’t be the last time that we will visit this place. So now, if you are looking for something different and exemplary, without a doubt, Cafe Seol Hwa is the perfect place to run to.
