The packaging looks girly in light pink. I love how their emblem was placed on the lid. It has a pump that’s why the tube feels so weighty.

It has a relatively strong fragrant same with their powder (Guerlain Meteorites powder). Sweet but not perfume-like.

Beauty Review: Body Treats’ Charcoal Nose Pore Strips.

  • Instantly remove pore-clogging dirt, oil and blackheads.
  • Charcoal absorbs into the pores on your skin and draws out the dirt and oils that are blocking the pores.
  • It also helps reduce the appearance of pores with regular use.

 Direction for use:

  • Wet nose area thoroughly with clean water. (Nose strip will not adhere if the skin is dry)
  • With dry hands, open the nose strip sachet and peel of the plastic liner. (When the nose strip sachet is opened, use the strip immediately.)
  • Apply the nose strip with the shiny side facing your skin. (Try to smooth out any bubbles.)
  • Allow to dry. (Approximately 10-15mins.)
  • When the strip has dried, slowly peel the strip off starting at the edges then pulling towards the center.
  • Remove any residue left on your nose with water.

The Verdict:

  • The nose strip adheres perfectly. It stays in place. However, it’s hard to smooth it out when it comes to the side of the nose.
  • It’s not painful when peeled of unlike other pore strips.
  • Looks dubious at first but effective.
  • My nose feels lighter and soft.
  • Unclogged most of my deep pores.
  • You can see the oil stains on the pore strips proving that the claim of absorbing oil and other impurities is true.
  • Afforable and can last up to a year in storage. (One box = 12 nose strip sachets. – Exclusively distributed by Watsons)

#BeautyByYou: DIY Blotting Paper

Blotting Papers started out with Japanese women hundreds of years ago. It is one of the most effective beauty product that will help you eliminate oily skin without ruining your makeup. It is compact and handy. These papers can be easily carried out anywhere you go. However, since not all of us can afford them, I have here a DIY that we can use to have blotting papers for less.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • tissue papers / coffee filters
  • scissors
  • storage container

Here’s what you need to do:

  • Flatten out the sheets to have wrinkle-free blotting papers. It is best if you place them under a heavy book for a day or so.
  • Afterwards, cut your paper into sheets. If you have a storage container, make sure that the sheets are smaller than the container. You can use a ruler to measure each sheets uniformly. You can also turn them into cute shapes like a star, cloud or even hearts.
  • Lastly, arrange the sheets properly and make sure you put them inside a dry container.

#BeautyByYou: Remedies for Tired Eyes

Tired Eyes or Eye Strain is one of the common yet most annoying condition of the eyes. You will experience watery or dry eyes, sore eye sockets, heavy lids or even eye itch. This state occurs when our eyes became overused from school, work or gadgets. However, there are simple ways to get rid of tired eyes that you can easily do at home.

  • Rose  Water – dip a cotton pad or cotton ball into the rose water and place it over the eyelids. Leave it on for 10 -1 5 minutes over night. (I have a tutorial on how to make your own Rose water. Please refer to this link.)
  • Cucumber – Place a slice each on your eyes and rest if for 10 minutes to reduce stressed eyes.
  • Potato (shredded) – Put it on top of your eyes to reduce dark circles. Let it rest for 10 minutes.

#BeautyByYou: Wrinkle Remover

The egg white and lemon juice as wrinkle remover is one of the most popular face masks for dry and saggy skin. Egg white and lemon juice both have oil control action and skin tightening properties. Lemon also contains antibacterial properties that kill germs. When combined, you can have your affordable and organic face tightening mask.

Freshly squeezed lemon juice  & egg whites

1. Combine and beat all the ingredients together.

2. Cover the wrinkled area with this mix.

3. Let it dry.

4. Once dry, splash off with warm water first, then cool water.

5. Pat to dry.

#BeautyByYou: Massage Therapy

Massage oils can be costly, not to mention they are not always natural. A good therapeutic massage oil doesn’t have to cost the earth and in fact you can simply make it at home and you’ll ensure that you’re using the best all natural ingredients.

Coconut oil is ideal for massage. It protects skin, lathers and melts easily upon skin contact. Also, it easily washes out of towels. Other oils stain and leave odors on towels after a while.

To make our homemade massage oil, you’ll need:

• 1/2 cup of coconut oil
• 1/4 cup of cocoa butter
• few drops of essential oil

Optional Ratio: 5 drops of essential oil per ounce of coconut oil.

° Soften coconut oil and cocoa butter in a double boiler over medium heat.
° Blend.
° Add few drops of essential oil.
° Cool down.
° Pour in a clean container.
